Thank you to Stanley Brand for sponsoring today's post and inspiring me to get outside this summer with the perfect camping tools!
I grew up in Girl Scouts, which meant lots of weekends spent camping. From camping on the beach to waking up in the Poconos on whitewater rafting trips, camping with my troop was something we did often. I never really appreciated camping enough as a kid, but now, as an adult, the few camping trips I've gone on have been super fun! And what I love most is cooking out over a campfire.
Whether it's s'mores or an actual meal, there's something so rewarding about creating a tasty meal over an open fire.
This hearty camp oatmeal is great for any day, but especially great fuel for when you're camping, and it's incredibly easy to make over a campfire, as long as you have the right tools!
WHAT YOU NEED (serves 2) //
1 c rolled oats
2 c water
1 fresh peach
1/4 c fresh blueberries
chopped pecans (optional)
brown sugar (as desired)
Making this tasty meal is simple: using the Stanley Adventure Camp Cook Set (which is perfect for cooking for two over a campfire!), bring water to a boil over the fire. Then, stir in your oats and move off of direct heat. Let the oats simmer for 20 to 30 minutes or until your oatmeal is soft, stirring occasionally. If all of the water is absorbed before oats are soft, then simply stir more water in.
Once your oatmeal is a soft consistency, dish out and top with diced peaches and blueberries, as well as pecans and brown sugar, if desired!
This oatmeal is so simple and delicious, and is great fuel to get your day of camping adventures starting off right!
The Stanley Adventure Camp Cook Set and 16QT Adventure Cooler are both great tools for your next camping trip. The cooler is so multi-functional. It keeps your food and drinks cold for up to 27 hours and can hold 21 cans, or all of the ingredients that you need for this oatmeal recipe! The cooler also doubles as extra storage, with is elastic bungee cords on the top which can tie down water bottles, the Camp Cook Set, or even your camera, and when the top's not in use, the cooler can also be used as an extra seat around the fire!
Stanley products are built for life, and are built to withstand your outdoor adventures or be a reliable must-have for tailgating this fall!
