thanks to the peachtree coffee group and five star coffee for sponsoring today's post! i received this product free of charge for review purposes, but all opinions are mine.
it was over a cup of coffee that aj told me he maybe sort of had a huge crush on me. he's not a big coffee drinker, but i love it. (for real, go look at my instagram feed). however, we've started nearly every road trip we've taken with a warm drink in our hands and i've been known to call him on my way to his house to see if he wanted me to pick something up for him (aka so i wouldn't look rude when i showed up with a latte for me and nothing for him).
when we started our premarital counseling a few weeks ago, we were given the homework of praying together and reading certain scripture passages together before our next session. for me, reading that scripture looks something like an open bible and notebook...and of course, a cup of coffee.
when i got the opportunity to try out five star coffee's romantic moments collection sampler box, i couldn't say no! i'm a "light and sweet" kind of girl....which means i love flavored coffees and i love flavored creamers in them, and each romantic moments box features four flavored 12-cup sampler bags of coffee (perfect for those moments where you're just brewing for two!).
my box featured georgia pecan, hazelnut creme, english toffee, and cinnamon stick coffee, and honestly, i can't choose a favorite! each flavor was smooth, rich, and met all of my expectations for a good cup of coffee.
what i love even more about each bag is that the label is tagged with a bible verse about love, and the back of each pack has a little devotional thought to do together. i love the question that is posed on the back of the georgia pecan bag: "...consider how your love might be different if you did not know god..." that is certainly a question that aj and i are pondering as we approach marriage.
i think it's great that five star coffee has taken the simple act of drinking coffee together (something that so many couples do) and made it easy to turn it into intentional time with one another and with jesus. i love imagining what the morning routine that i share with aj some day will look like, and i hope that it includes some mornings of having breakfast and coffee together and sharing some time spent in the word.
and five star coffee has offered to give one heavens to betsy reader the opportunity to try out their own romantic moments sampler box! check out the rafflecopter for ways to enter. you must complete both mandatory entries to be eligible to win!
all entries will be verified, so please play fair. good luck!
This is too cute! I love it when my boyfriend of three years makes me a cup of coffee and we can sit together and read. It's such a special moment to share!
ReplyDeleteMy husband and I have this routine of making two cups of coffee every morning before breakfast. Usually it will lead into a talk about the future, like family planning.
ReplyDeleteMy husband and I love to make coffee and sit on Saturday mornings to plan the day!!
ReplyDeleteMy treasured coffee moments are when I visit my parents. My mom and I are always up early and share coffee time before all the rest of the family is awake. It's special.
ReplyDeleteMy treasured coffee cup moment goes WAY back to when I was three years old. My great grandparents would watch me while my parents were at work, and we would all sip our coffee together while watching The Price is Right... totally 90's, right? My "coffee" was more like 90% milk and 10% coffee, but I felt so special, and I truly believe that's why I'm so addicted to coffee now.
ReplyDeleteI always love a good cup of coffee, but one of my favorite places to enjoy it is back home at my parents :) It's so nice to be there and just share a morning cup of coffee with everyone.
ReplyDeleteAdam and I had a lot of coffee dates when we were getting to know each other, so that would definitely be my most treasured coffee moment!
ReplyDeleteI treasure the mornings with my husband when he has coffee waiting for me when I wake up. It's the little things like that are the most meaningful.
ReplyDeleteSomething about coffee is so calming and welcoming, I love the idea of sharing that moment in the morning with the one you love! What an amazing idea to bring Christ and the Gospel into it too! Oh, and the cinnamon sounds incredible(:
ReplyDeleteThat's awesome! Coffee is my thing too. I've worked as a Barista and enjoyed that too. I, like you Betsy, am super into the flavored coffees and creamers :)
ReplyDeleteI think that cinnamon coffee sounds quite wondiferous :p

ReplyDeleteThe latest one is when I was having a horrible day and my friend and I went out and had coffee... There is something special when you bond while drinking coffee.
ReplyDeleteI was shoveling snow last week, and I came in to find that my boyfriend had a cup of hot coffee ready for me, to warm me up. How sweet!
ReplyDeleteCoffee and inspiration? Sounds like a beautiful combination! Great giveaway!
ReplyDeletei'm the SAME way with coffee (although i drink it pretty infrequently)--it's gotta be flavored and it's gotta be light :)
ReplyDeleteI don't like coffee but so many special moments have been held over cups of hot drinks. This morning Jake made coffee in our bedroom because our breaker went out in the kitchen haha!
ReplyDeleteMy first date with my husband was over coffee and cookies :)

ReplyDeleteA treasured coffee cup moment.. After my husband proposed, we went out to get a cup of coffee to celebrate our first coffee date a year ago.
ReplyDeleteDuring our trip to Maine we went up on Cadillac Mountain in Acadia Park to watch the sunrise. It was October and FREEZING up there...and after the sunrise and many oohs and aahs and photographs, we sped down the hill for the most desired cup of hot coffee ever!
ReplyDeleteI love having coffee mornings with friends.
ReplyDeleteI love having Flathead Lake cherry coffee when we're in Montana
ReplyDeleteMy best coffee memory is from when I was a little girl, and my dad would sip his coffee in the morning while I helped him polish his shoes (It was my job to buff them with a brush). My reward was the last couple of sips of his coffee, which was very sweet from the sugar that had settled in the bottom of the cup.
ReplyDeleteBack when my uncle was alive, he worked with my dad and stayed at our house a lot. They would always get up super early and I'd wake up to the smell of coffee. I loved those quiet moments sipping my tea while my dad and uncle and I chatted at our kitchen table, before my siblings woke up and the house started to come alive. I will always cherish those moments when I really got to know my uncle very well.
ReplyDeleteWhen I was in college and my nieces were little my sister asked if I could come and babysit one weekend because her husband had won a weekend trip through his work. I said yes, but was kind of dreading the idea of waking up at the crack of dawn with little ones (I never have been a morning person). The first morning I awoke to a knock at the door, and in comes my oldest niece (maybe 6 at the time) with a cup of coffee, which she proceeded to set on the nightstand and walk out.
ReplyDeleteMy sister later told me they had spent about 3 weeks perfecting that trick!
When my husband and i met we lived in the same apartment complex. We would stay up all night on the patio talking and drinking coffee, until the sun came up. He made the coffee because i didn't have a coffee pot yet. And he had a grind and brew- it was the best!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite coffee memories are from my time dating the "one who got away". We both were big coffee drinkers and many of our dates started are ended with cups of coffee and various Starbucks. We'd sit and talk for hrs.
ReplyDeleteDrinking coffee for the first time with my best friend over a breakup she had not realizing that I would love it.
