every monday, i like to link up with ember grey for her grateful heart monday link-up. we post about things that we're grateful for that day, and it's an awesome way to start off your week. and lately, i've been thinking about how this gratitude thing is a choice. some days, it's a little harder to live in that gratitude. that's just life, ya know? but i firmly believe that there's always something to be grateful for if you look for it.
so, that being said, here's what i'm grateful for on this monday:
that i still have aj home for almost two weeks
an exciting start to september (chaperoning a youth retreat and then spending a week in boston!)
a really cuddly puppy (who also happens to weigh 75 pounds)
a second job for this year
netflix (can i get an amen!?)
the hint of fall in the air (but that summer still has some good days left)
little day trip dates
peaches
homemade granola (yes, my mom is still at it! i will have to have her take over the blog and share a recipe someday soon!)
clean sheets & quilts to sleep in (there's nothing better than freshly-washed bedding)

what are you grateful for today?
Clean sheets and bedding makes me super happy!!! ;)
ReplyDeleteI am so excited for fall too! It really felt like fall here a couple of weeks ago, but we have been at 90-100 degrees for the past several days with no end in sight. Aren't peaches great this time of year? We had some REALLY good ones a couple of weeks ago, and bought some more last week. I was so excited for more peaches, but these ones aren't good. :( So sad.
ReplyDeleteamen to netflix & cuddly pups!
ReplyDeleteI can't go into details but choosing gratitude was really hard today....but I am trying to fight the good fight. Thanks for this!
ReplyDeleteAmen to netflix, cuddly pups and fall being in the air...but I loved that summer is still here for a little bit! :)
ReplyDeleteAmen to the Netflix, the clean bedding & peaches.
ReplyDeleteI'm jealous of the Fall weather you are starting to get! It will be a bit before that makes its way down to Florida.
ReplyDeleteoh gosh, well it's still in the high 80s/90s here, but people have been talking about a "polar vortex" and snow in september, which is SO not ok!!
ReplyDeleteWe had a chilly weekend and have been having chilly nights for a while now, and I really really want a few good summer days before fall really hits! plus, there are rumors of snow in september, which is just not ok in any way! haha, but yes, our house is constantly stocked with peaches :) so sad that you had a not-so-great batch :(
ReplyDeleteyes!! me too :)
ReplyDeleteThere's Fall in the air? Really?! Gosh I hope so because having lived in Florida until this year I'm really looking forward to it.
ReplyDeleteI feel you! I lived in Florida until this year and the weather there sucks. I got so tired of summer 1, summer 2, summer 3 and summer.
ReplyDeleteYou've had a fabulous summer and it sounds like your fall will be shaping up quite nicely! (I love busy falls) :) I'm so excited to hear more about your teaching adventure! (And of course the puppy!!!!) Wishing you a fabulous week, friend!
ReplyDeleteGreat list :) Glad you have more time with Aj being home. Love you girl!
ReplyDeleteI am right there with you on Netflix! Best invention ever! :P & fall is so close! I have been seeing a few leaves fall here & there!
ReplyDeleteOh definitely share that granola recipe girl :) love the fall weather too!
ReplyDeleteNetflix, absolutely!
ReplyDeleteNetflix - yes, yes + yes. My number one reason for not getting all my 'to do's' done in a day :)
ReplyDeleteMost definitely yes to Netflix, Fall, and clean sheets. Does it get any better than that? I don't think so!
ReplyDeletenope. it can't get better. :)
ReplyDeletehaha!

ReplyDeletei'm working on it! she seriously makes a batch like every other day :)
ReplyDeletenetflix is the best, but also the most dangerous invention ever! haha
ReplyDeleteme too! but it's fading fast...he'll be back in boston in two weeks! and come to think of it, i'll be home from road trip in two weeks already, so that's crazy! haha
ReplyDeleteit has been a good summer so far! i totally agree...i love busy falls! and i'm sure you'll have a crazy one leading up to the big move! :)
ReplyDeleteyeah, it's coming! haha....hopefully not too quickly, though, because i've heard rumors of winter weather arriving early, and i'm not ok with that!
ReplyDeleteugh, after the winter we had last year, i think i would take a few seasons of summer! haha
ReplyDeleteThat is true!
ReplyDeleteOh Boston....I LOVE that town...so fun! And clean sheets....my favorite night is climbing into bed with clean sheets....you are totally speaking my love language!!
ReplyDeleteah! As a fellow pennsylvanian, I think I'm going to cry! haha
ReplyDeleteThat is a good reason to spend a TON of time outside over the next few weeks!
