clearly, i need to find a replacement, and soon. but here's the deal: i've been through no fewer than three flat irons since i graduated high school seven years ago, and while two and a half years isn't a terrible lifespan, i'd really like to find a product that's going to last! i'm considering investing in a chi, because i've heard great things, but i'm also looking for suggestions….
so what straightener do you use? do you love it? why? help!
Ok I do NOT suggest a chi. I have been through 4!! A couple of years ago my mom bought me a babybliss flat iron and I LOVE IT. It hasn't broken and still works!! Also I know the GHD is an excellent brand.
ReplyDeleteYeah, I was reading reviews today and they were really mixed. Gonna take my time and shop around. Thanks for the advice!
DeleteI have had a Chi for four years and I loved it! I did just replace it this Christmas (with another Chi!) because it was just old and kind of stunk when it heated up... that's kind of gross, but it has always been great for me!! My mom swears by Babyliss, though.. she LOVES hers and refuses to use anything else ever.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the input (and tweet!) Lauren! I haven't looked into Babyliss yet, so that will have to be the next research I do!
DeleteI'm a big fan of chi, and my best recommendation is to get the thinnest iron size you can. They're cheaper and I think it does a better job than the giant-plated ones
ReplyDeleteYeah, I prefer the 1" size. I've had everything from 1-2" and I definitely like the skinnier ones too. Thanks for the tip!
DeleteI have the CHI knock off which works great. The brand is GVP. Lifespan isn't spectacular though... About 3 years give or take but I use it every day.
ReplyDelete3 years isn't too bad! I don't straighten my whole head every day…just my bangs, And I maybe straighten all of my hair like every two or three ays. Thanks for the advice!
DeleteOh wow thats a few to get through! I have a GHD and it's lasted 4 years now and still hot thats for sure...my poor little neck cops that sometimes :(
ReplyDeleteOh! Good to know. Thanks! :)
DeleteOh no! I use GHDs, I've had mine for 8 years and it's still going well! I would definitely recommend them :)
